Mallard Lake is one of the best fishing attractions in Northeast Arkansas. This 300-acre lake was created in 1967 and is maintained by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission. Mallard Lake was created by the placement of a series of levees in the marshy lowlands of a 12,000-acre preserve called Big Lake Wildlife Management Area and is located at its southern end.
